    1. ±× ³¯ ¹ã¿¡ ¿ÕÀÌ ÀáÀÌ ¿ÀÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇϹǷΠ¸í·ÉÇÏ¿© ¿ª´ë Àϱ⸦ °¡Á®´Ù°¡ Àڱ⠾տ¡¼­ ÀÐÈ÷´õ´Ï
        That night the king could not sleep; so he ordered the book of the chronicles,
        the record of his reign, to be brought in and read to him.

    2. ±× ¼Ó¿¡ ±â·ÏÇϱ⸦ ¹®À» ÁöÅ°´ø ¿ÕÀÇ µÎ ³»½Ã ºò´Ù³ª¿Í µ¥·¹½º°¡ ¾ÆÇϼö¿¡·Î ¿ÕÀ» ¾Ï»ìÇÏ·Á´Â

        It was found recorded there that Mordecai had exposed Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's
        officers who guarded the doorway, who had conspired to assassinate King Xerxes.

    3. ¿ÕÀÌ À̸£µÇ ÀÌ ÀÏ¿¡ ´ëÇÏ¿© ¹«½¼ Á¸±Í¿Í °üÀÛÀ» ¸ð¸£µå°³¿¡°Ô º£Ç®¾ú´À³Ä ÇÏ´Ï Ãø±Ù ½ÅÇϵéÀÌ
        ´ë´äÇ쵂 ¾Æ¹«°Íµµ º£Ç®Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¿´³ªÀÌ´Ù Çϴ϶ó
        ¡°What honor and recognition has Mordecai received for this?" the king asked.
         "Nothing has been done for him," his attendants answered.

    4. ¿ÕÀÌ À̸£µÇ ´©°¡ ¶ã¿¡ ÀÖ´À³Ä ÇϸŠ¸¶Ä§ Çϸ¸ÀÌ ÀڱⰡ ¼¼¿î ³ª¹«¿¡ ¸ð¸£µå°³ ´Þ±â¸¦
       ¿Õ²² ±¸ÇÏ°íÀÚ ÇÏ¿© ¿Õ±Ã ¹Ù±ù¶ã¿¡ À̸¥Áö¶ó
        The king said, "Who is in the court?" Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the palace to
        speak to the king about hanging Mordecai on the gallows he had erected for him.

    5. Ãø±Ù ½ÅÇϵéÀÌ ¾Æ·ÚµÇ Çϸ¸ÀÌ ¶ã¿¡ ¼¹³ªÀÌ´Ù ÇÏ´Ï ¿ÕÀÌ À̸£µÇ µé¾î¿À°Ô Ç϶ó ÇÏ´Ï
        His attendants answered, "Haman is standing in the court." "Bring him in," the king ordered.

    6. Çϸ¸ÀÌ µé¾î¿À°Å´Ã ¿ÕÀÌ ¹¯µÇ ¿ÕÀÌ Á¸±ÍÇÏ°Ô Çϱ⸦ ¿øÇÏ´Â »ç¶÷¿¡°Ô ¾î¶»°Ô ÇÏ¿©¾ß ÇÏ°Ú´À³Ä
        Çϸ¸ÀÌ ½ÉÁß¿¡ À̸£µÇ ¿ÕÀÌ Á¸±ÍÇÏ°Ô Çϱ⸦ ¿øÇϽô ÀÚ´Â ³ª ¿Ü¿¡ ´©±¸¸®¿ä ÇÏ°í
        When Haman entered, the king asked him, "What should be done for the man the king delights to
        honor?" Now Haman thought to himself, "Who is there that the king would rather honor than me?"

    7. ¿Õ²² ¾Æ·ÚµÇ ¿Õ²²¼­ »ç¶÷À» Á¸±ÍÇÏ°Ô ÇϽ÷Á¸é
        So he answered the king, "For the man the king delights to honor,

    8. ¿Õ²²¼­ ÀÔÀ¸½Ã´Â ¿Õº¹°ú ¿Õ²²¼­ Ÿ½Ã´Â ¸»°ú ¸Ó¸®¿¡ ¾²½Ã´Â ¿Õ°üÀ» °¡Á®´Ù°¡
        have them bring a royal robe the king has worn and a horse the king has ridden,
        one with a royal crest placed on its head.

    9. ±× ¿Õº¹°ú ¸»À» ¿ÕÀÇ ½ÅÇÏ Áß °¡Àå Á¸±ÍÇÑ ÀÚÀÇ ¼Õ¿¡ ¸Ã°Ü¼­ ¿ÕÀÌ Á¸±ÍÇÏ°Ô ÇϽñ⸦ ¿øÇϽô »ç¶÷¿¡°Ô
       ¿ÊÀ» ÀÔÈ÷°í ¸»À» Å¿ö¼­ ¼º Áß °Å¸®·Î ´Ù´Ï¸ç ±× ¾Õ¿¡¼­ ¹ÝÆ÷ÇÏ¿© À̸£±â¸¦ ¿ÕÀÌ Á¸±ÍÇÏ°Ô Çϱ⸦
       ¿øÇϽô »ç¶÷¿¡°Ô´Â ÀÌ°°ÀÌ ÇÒ °ÍÀ̶ó ÇÏ°Ô ÇϼҼ­ Çϴ϶ó
        Then let the robe and horse be entrusted to one of the king's most noble princes. Let them robe the
        man the king delights to honor, and lead him on the horse through the city streets, proclaiming
        before him, 'This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor!"

    10. ÀÌ¿¡ ¿ÕÀÌ Çϸ¸¿¡°Ô À̸£µÇ ³Ê´Â ³× ¸»´ë·Î ¼ÓÈ÷ ¿Õº¹°ú ¸»À» °¡Á®´Ù°¡ ´ë±È ¹®¿¡ ¾ÉÀº À¯´Ù »ç¶÷
         ¸ð¸£µå°³¿¡°Ô ÇàÇ쵂 ¹«¸© ³×°¡ ¸»ÇÑ °Í¿¡¼­ Á¶±Ýµµ ºüÁüÀÌ ¾øÀÌ Ç϶ó
         ¡°Go at once," the king commanded Haman. "Get the robe and the horse and do just as you have
          suggested for Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king's gate. Do not neglect anything you have
          recommended."

    11. Çϸ¸ÀÌ ¿Õº¹°ú ¸»À» °¡Á®´Ù°¡ ¸ð¸£µå°³¿¡°Ô ¿ÊÀ» ÀÔÈ÷°í ¸»À» Å¿ö ¼º Áß °Å¸®·Î ´Ù´Ï¸ç ±× ¾Õ¿¡¼­
         ¹ÝÆ÷Ç쵂 ¿ÕÀÌ Á¸±ÍÇÏ°Ô ÇϽñ⸦ ¿øÇϽô »ç¶÷¿¡°Ô´Â ÀÌ°°ÀÌ ÇÒ °ÍÀ̸®¶ó Çϴ϶ó
         So Haman got the robe and the horse. He robed Mordecai, and let him on horseback through the
         city streets, proclaiming before him, "This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor!"

    12. ¸ð¸£µå°³´Â ´Ù½Ã ´ë±È ¹®À¸·Î µ¹¾Æ¿À°í Çϸ¸Àº ¹ø³úÇÏ¿© ¸Ó¸®¸¦ ½Î°í ±ÞÈ÷ ÁýÀ¸·Î µ¹¾Æ°¡¼­
         Afterward Mordecai returned to the king's gate. But Haman rushed home,
         with his head covered in grief,

    13. ÀڱⰡ ´çÇÑ ¸ðµç ÀÏÀ» ±×ÀÇ ¾Æ³» ¼¼·¹½º¿Í ¸ðµç Ä£±¸¿¡°Ô ¸»ÇϸŠ±× Áß ÁöÇý·Î¿î ÀÚ¿Í ±×ÀÇ ¾Æ³»
         ¼¼·¹½º°¡ À̸£µÇ ¸ð¸£µå°³°¡ °ú¿¬ À¯´Ù »ç¶÷ÀÇ ÈļÕÀÌ¸é ´ç½ÅÀÌ ±× ¾Õ¿¡¼­ ±¼¿åÀ» ´çÇϱâ
         ½ÃÀÛÇÏ¿´À¸´Ï ´ÉÈ÷ ±×¸¦ À̱âÁö ¸øÇÏ°í ºÐ¸íÈ÷ ±× ¾Õ¿¡ ¾þµå·¯Áö¸®ÀÌ´Ù
         and told Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had happened to Him. His advisers
         and his wife Zeresh said to him, "Since Mordecai, before whom your downfall has started,
         is of Jewish origin, you cannot stand against him--you will surely come to ruin!"

    14. ¾ÆÁ÷ ¸»ÀÌ ±×Ä¡Áö ¾Æ´ÏÇÏ¿©¼­ ¿ÕÀÇ ³»½ÃµéÀÌ À̸£·¯ Çϸ¸À» µ¥¸®°í ¿¡½º´õ°¡ º£Ç¬ ÀÜÄ¡¿¡ »¡¸® ³ª¾Æ°¡´Ï¶ó
         While they were still talking with him, the king's eunuchs arrived and hurried Haman away to the
         banquet Esther had prepared.
